This is one of those secret addresses which every milanese knows especially if fond of design. Rossana Orlandi turns Contemporary Design into Collectible Design and she does it in a unique way!
Number 14, via Matteo Bandello (red subway conciliazione and then few minutes by foot in one of the most elegant parts of Milano) is one of the best-known addresses among design addicts and those who come from all five continents to Milan, where the various Design Weeks are among the most important dates of the year.
Ro (Rossana Orlandi) literally works magic in this place. The courtyard, covered with the nearly centennial strawberry grape vines (“one of my dearest prides” she says), becomes the focal point on every Milanese map. The first floor is covered with the famous “cuvettes that we keep upside down if they are empty” which, from the early to the late 1900s, housed the fabrics and yarns of Prochnovnich, one of the most renowned tie factories of the period.
Go and visit it, you will be able to admire very special design pieces !
